Tutorial: Using Podaris to analyse accessibility to EV charging locations

This tutorial shows you how to analyse accessibility to a single point as well as to all entities in a dataset.

Podaris can be used to look at accessibility to key destinations, such as e-bike hire docks and EV charging locations. Using the isochrone tool, you can gain valuable insights about the coverage of these locations and which areas may require additional funding.

Step-by-step Walkthrough

Step 1:

Go to your Podaris instance and click New in the top left corner.

Step 2:

Select a default transport mode, privacy settings and location.

Step 3:

Add census data to your project by importing it as a dataset or selecting it from the networks panel.

Step 4:

Add the dataset to your project by either importing the dataset through the layers panel or adding it through the networks panel. In the tutorial video above, we use a dataset containing the location of EV charging points.

Step 5:

Select the isochrone tool and click on the map to create an isochrone from a single location. If your census data contains a default query, this will be automatically added to your isochrone.

Step 6:

To add a query, go to the queries tab within the isochrone settings and click add. Select the attribute you would like to query and save your query.

Step 7:

Name, save and recalculate your isochrone.
