Folders
Folders let you organise the projects, networks, datasets, and other assets in a workspace into a clear, navigable structure.
Folders sit inside a workspace and group the assets you create — Plan projects, Networks, Datasets, Streets, Tilesets, and Insight analyses. They make it easier to keep large workspaces tidy and to find things quickly.

Creating a folder
- On the home screen, navigate to the workspace and folder where you want the new folder to live. Folders cannot be created outside of workspaces.
- Click New and select Folder.
- Enter a name and an optional description, then save.
Folder names can contain letters, numbers, spaces, underscores, and hyphens. Two folders in the same location cannot share a name.
Navigating folders
Folders are shown as cards alongside the assets in the current location. Click a folder card to open it. The breadcrumbs at the top of the home screen show your current path — click any segment to jump back to that level.
You can nest folders up to five levels deep.
Editing, moving, and deleting
Each folder card has an actions menu with three options:
- Edit: change the folder's name or description.
- Move: relocate the folder to a different workspace or parent folder. You will be prompted to select the destination. A folder cannot be moved into itself or any of its own subfolders, and you cannot move a folder if doing so would exceed the five-level nesting limit.
- Delete: remove the folder. This option is only available when the folder is **empty**: it must contain no projects and no subfolders. Move or delete the contents first if you need to remove a folder that is not empty.
Projects, networks, and other assets can also be moved into and out of folders from their own action menus, or by dragging and dropping.
Things to keep in mind
- Folders are scoped to a single workspace, but you can move both folders and projects across workspaces from the Move dialog.
- Folder permissions follow the workspace — anyone with access to the workspace can see the folder structure.
- Folder names are limited to 100 characters; descriptions to 500.
