Import the latest bus or rail network data for your area of analysis directly within Podaris, without the need to source any data externally.
The Managed Networks import option enables you to import the latest bus or rail network data for your area of analysis directly within Podaris. Rather than needing to source a GTFS or TransXChange file of your required network, this feature in Podaris ensures you can quickly and easily get your projects set up with the networks you need.
The data available within the Managed Networks import options are sourced from three data sources:
- Bus Open Data Service (BODS)
- Traveline National Dataset (TNDS)
- Rail Delivery Group (RDG)
To import a network using this feature:
- Within a new Project or Network, go to the Services panel and click the import button
- From the import options that appear select "managed networks"
- From here you can select BODS or TNDS for your bus network creation or RDG for your rail network creation
- Finally, within the geography options that open, define the area for which you would like the network imported for. This can be defined either by drawing a polygon around the desired area, or by importing a boundary file in a GIS format that defines the area of interest
After clicking Finish, your import will be queued and then processed. When complete you will receive a project notification and the routes will appear both on your map and in the Services panel of your project.
