This guide will walk you through the process of importing GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) data into Podaris.  To import a GTFS file: 1. Drag your zipped GTFS file onto the dropzone or click **Select file**. Podaris automatically checks the file and displays a **Detected as: GTFS feed** label on the file card. On the draft detail panel, finalise your project title, set visibility/privacy, choose the destination folder, [further filter your import by geography](https://support.podaris.com/filtering-network-imports-by-geography?hsLang=en) and click the button in the bottom right to finish. Larger feeds will queue in the background and notify you when ready. ![Screenshot 2026-08-18 at 11.05.23](https://support.podaris.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-08-18%20at%2011.05.23.png?width=670&height=355&name=Screenshot%202026-08-18%20at%2011.05.23.png) ### Accepted formats and size limits The maximum supported file sizes in the [asset library ](https://support.podaris.com/asset-library?hsLang=en)are: | Format | Extension | Maximum size | | --- | --- | --- | | GeoJSON | .geojson, .json | 30 MB | | KML | .kml | 30 MB | | GPX | .gpx | 30 MB | | CSV | .csv | 30 MB | | Shapefile (zipped) | .zip | 30 MB | | Podaris project or dataset | .podaris | 100 MB | | GTFS or TransXChange feed (zipped) | .zip | 250 MB | If you need to import a bigger file, let us know. **Did you know you can now import GTFS files directly into a Network project?** You can launch the upload workflow directly when creating a new project: 1. 1. The [asset library](https://support.podaris.com/asset-library?hsLang=en)opens directly onto the upload panel, titled **Create network from GTFS**. 3. Drop your file onto the dropzone.
