Network imports can often contain multiple agencies. Simplify and accelerate your analysis by filtering for the ones you need.
After uploading your Network file, you'll be prompted to select which agencies to import. Network feeds often contain data from multiple transit agencies, especially in regions with integrated transit systems. For example:
- Metropolitan areas with multiple operators (e.g., buses, subway, commuter rail)
- Regional transit authorities that oversee several local agencies
- National datasets combining multiple local and regional agencies
Filtering by agency allows you to select which agencies you want to include or exclude during the import process. This flexibility is useful when focusing on particular transport modes or operators, prefer to analyze agencies individually rather than collectively, or need to filter out irrelevant or outdated agency data from the Network feed.
To include or exclude agencies, simply move them between the "Excluded agencies" and "Imported agencies" columns using the provided buttons.
- Note that Excluding an agency will omit all its associated routes, stops, and schedules from the import.
- Consider how agency selection might affect network connectivity in your analysis.
- If unsure, it's often best to import all agencies initially; you can filter data within Podaris later if needed.
