Why can’t I find the datasets I want to use in Podaris:Insight?

Understand how to create reference datasets for use within Podaris:Insight

When configuring an analysis in Podaris:Insight, clicking any network or dataset field now opens the asset library directly.

If you cannot find the dataset you are looking for in the asset library window, consider the following visibility and permission factors:

  • Permissions & Privacy: You can only see sources you have explicit permission to view. If a dataset owned by a colleague or another workspace is missing, ask the owner to check its privacy settings.
  • Tab Filters: Make sure you are checking the right tab on the left sidebar:
    • Mine: Sources and datasets you personally own.
    • All: Everything you have access to, including sources shared within your organisation.
    • Data Library: The Podaris-curated catalogue of census, boundary, and point of interest (POI) datasets.
  • Search & Filters: Use the search bar to search titles and descriptions, or filter by Owner, Workspace, or License.

If the dataset does not exist in Podaris yet

You can create and upload a new dataset without leaving your analysis:

  1. In the asset library window that opens from your Insight field, click Upload file at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Select Dataset as your source type and drop your file (.geojson, .kml, .gpx, .csv, or zipped shapefile).
  3. Complete the upload setup to attach it as a reference directly to your analysis field.

Alternatively, you can return to the home screen, click New, Datatset, then choose Import to upload a dataset for wider project use.
